New Craft Stuff!

Hey Everyone!

We went to Walmart and Hobby Lobby and I got some craft stuff! So of course I had to post a picture on Craft Craze! :D

We got:

2 squares of felt (the blue one is my little brother's)

Some crochet hooks so I could teach Michael (my little brother) how to crochet (he is supposed to do that in school this year)

Some yarn (Yay! Awesome colors!)

I need some ideas of what to make with the felt! :D LOL

No one has been updating lately, so I thought I would do a little post. ;) I haven't been doing anything too crafty lately. For that matter, nothing. I seriously need to knit or crochet or do something other than blog and eat. LOLOLOL

Steps for the craft.

Here are some more steps for the craft! :D We have 5 tiles out of 8 in art!

Tile 3: Bright and Dull. One square is bright, and the other is dull. Then, bright, then dull. So, if you have 6 squares, 3 are bright, 3 are dull. Bright colors: lime green, hot pink, yellow, red, orange Dull colors: black, brown, gray.

Tile 4: Lines. This takes like 2 seconds! Pick another tile and retrace the lines in clors. They can start out dark and end up light, or start light and end dark, or even start dark, get light in the middle, and end dark. The next one 2morrow. It's past 11 here! Yawns! I'm tired! Bye!

I haven't been up to much crafting, except in art! We are currently moving super slow. You know abstract art, with all those lines? Does Michangelo ring a bell? We are doing abstact art and we split a piece of paper into 8 parts. Then we drew a big long curvy line on it. The line crosses over itself but doesn't go too tight. We are only coloring 1 section a day! So it is taking like forever and I get so bored! If you want to make it I'll post further instructions, so

1. get a large or small piece of paper.
2. Split it into 8 parts without folding. (use a ruler!) You can fold but it won't look as good.
3.Draw a big wavy, curly, twisty, line all over the page. The line can cross over itself. You want it to cross over a lot, but don't make the sections too tight. You should have 4-8 little sections in each of the 8 parts.
4. Pick any section of the 8. That one is called Primary colors. You can only color it using red, blue, and yellow, the primary colors! Treat the section like a coloring page, just color inbetween the lines you made!
5. Pick another one of the 8 sections, this one has to have even number of the little sections. This one is called Values. Pick a couple colors in COLORED PENCIL. Color one square really dark with the pencil, then, move to a different square and color it really light. Then do the same with another color. And another, until you have no little squares left.

Knitting Doll Clothes

Hey Everyone!

I have made lots of things for my American Girl dolls by knitting! :D Here is a picture of some of them:

I made the sweater, the ball, and the hat! :) Julie is modeling. I am sure she is quite hot. :P LOL My knitting has also been featured HERE! :D

Our awesome new team member Jasmine added a new widget to the sidebar. Sally the Scissors! :D If you need her to cut fabric or yarn or just a pattern, she's your scissors. LOL

Fun Patterns

Well, since this is a craft blog, I thought I might share some cool crochet patterns.
You may have heard of these, they are Amigurumis. They are crocheted japanese toys. On the Lion Brand website they have all sorts of them from play food to stuffed animals. It is Definitley worth checking out HERE. I made my little brother the penguin, and eventually I will make the elephant. Lion Brand makes new patterns all the time. I hope you enjoy these!

Knitting Injuries

Hey Guys! Quinlyn Here!

Well, the title says all. Today, as I was cutting the access yarn off of my new doll headband, I nipped my finger. Now it is in a band-aid and it's hard to type! And before that, I actually SAT on my knitting needles! This was on another project. I sat down in the chair and one of my knitting needles went about a quarter of an inch into my thigh! I pulled it out *Shudder* and I was SO scared! Thankfully, it healed in full. So, although knitting is fun and worthwhile, PLEASE be careful!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while! I just got my camera and I don't know how to get pictures online yet! I know how to put them on blogger and picasa, but I can't get them from my camera without help!

Well, right now I am knitting, well, I don't know! I started it but the material is so hard to knit! It is a kind of fuzzy red yellow and blue material. I'll start over. I kinda like to be perfect, it's a problem of mine! Help me brainstorm for ideas, please! I could knit... a purse for AG dolls! I'de just sew the pieces together! If you have a better idea, tell me! I love to have feedback!

I finished the front of a sweater for kirsten! I also have a sweater for mini Julie! I already have pics of mini Julie in her sweater on my picasa album entitled miss dolly entry. You will know when you find it, there are only three photos in the album! I don't have any pics of my sweater front yet because it is at my mom's house :( What is your favorite style of knitting? I like stockinette. It is knitting one row and purling the next. Of course I don't know many styles yet because I am a beginning knitter! I'll learn soon! Goodbye,
